"WRITING ON THE SIDE"

Saturday, January 24
9 a.m. to noon

You are feeling the pinch of these economic hard times. But wait! There may be a silver lining, which is discovering that you have the ability to earn some extra cash with your untapped creativity.

Writing on the Side is a workshop designed for writers of all levels and all genres. It is designed to motivate individuals to act on some ideas they may have been mentally kicking around for years.

You always wanted to write a book? Why not give it a shot now? You think you could have written that article in The New York Times Connecticut section....do it. You're sick of reading all the cliché content in the parenting magazines and believe your ideas are newer? Go after it. This workshop will appeal to individuals who are otherwise busy, whether raising their families or looking for jobs or working in different fields.

Workshop leader Susan Farewell has been earning a living as an independent journalist/author for many years. With the Internet, she sees the word as having a bigger appetite than ever for well written content.

Susan Farewell is an accomplished freelance writer who for more than fifteen years has managed her own successful freelance writing business, writing books, magazine, newspaper and Internet articles. Prior to that she had a ten year career as a travel editor and staff writer at Condé Nast Publications in New York City. Her work has been published throughout the United States and in European and Asian publications.
